Mrs T Potts, Moreton-in-Marsh

I have been to Mrs T Potts (will be Cotswold tea room in the future) twice now and have been very, very impressed both times.  They understand cross contamination so well, and I have never been ill afterwards (I am highly sensitive and react to the smallest crumb of gluten).  They have an amazing range available to us and makes it so easy and you feel normal ordering food! 
The first time I went in, we ate in and I had a jacket potato and chili, we then took home two cakes - lemon and a raspberry and chocolate brownie.  The second time, we popped in and took food away, this time I got 6 fruit scones (which are freezable), millionaire shortbread, lemon cake and a raspberry cake.  All of the cakes I have tried, I have been in love with!  It is lucky I don't live closer as I would be going in for cakes all the time!!  The scones were great too and next time I go, I'm going to order several and freeze them.  The dinner I had, was also lovely and will be popping in in the future for some more lunch.

My gluten free breakfast

This is my everyday breakfast - Marks and Spencer's rice porridge in their 'Made Without Wheat Range'.  It is so quick and easy to make, I have adapted the recipe slightly to suit my own tastes. Here it is:
  • 20g of rice porridge (half a packet) - I make two days in a row and just keep them in the fridge 
  • 90g of milk
  • Frozen raspberries to be mixed in - they have to be frozen as it adds a little bit of more moisture
  • I then put it in the microwave at 600W for 2min 30sec
  • I give it a stir and make sure them raspberries are all mixed in and the porridge is looking pink
  • Next, I put it back in the microwave for another 2mins
  • I then add my dollop of Lyle's golden syrup and stir that in
  • And, I then add any extra toppings, in this case, fresh raspberries 
I add slightly less liquid than directed as I don't like it liquid-y!

Welcome and my plans

Welcome to my first blog post!  I'm planning on uploading a post every Sunday at 9am.  I will be posting about my recommendations of products and places as well as facts and trying to myth bust.  I am a 17 year old, who was born and bred in the UK and is living with coeliac disease.
 I started my Instagram on the 3rd February 2017 and it was started to help others find gluten free foods available to use, here in the UK.  If you haven't come form my Instagram (hi if you have!), do go over and check it out.

 My plans for this blog:
  1. Post every Sunday without fail
  2. Reply to every comment - so get commenting!!
  3. Review and recommend as many products and places as possible
